2002, second generation of restaurateurs (in his native Brazil) and after managing establishments in the United Kingdom, Alberto Cantón takes over the bar 'La Rosa Negra'.

His aim is to develop a modern cocktail bar and a more relaxed and summery bar experience… Together with his wife Ellie, they decide to give it a new name… Bar Okapi.

Initially and only as a complement to the cocktails and mixed drinks, Alberto introduces a small range of snacks that progressively grows into a complete menu of tapas and sharing plates…

Over the years and always encouraged by an increasingly loyal clientele, the first pizzas and salads are added… which shortly afterwards give way to burgers and a new 'grill' family.

Okapi is a casual and accessible bar-restaurant offering cocktails and casual cuisine to a family, local and international audience.

A wide offering, a good value for money and fast, always smiling service make Okapi the easy and recurring choice for families, groups of friends and couples living in or visiting the north coast of Menorca.

More than 20 years of history have established us as a well-known, friendly and relaxed alternative. If Okapi is Playas de Fornells… Playas de Fornells is also (in a way) Okapi.
